Research Interests

Studies ecosystem composition and structure across landscapes and over time using remote sensing to provide indicators of the impact of human activities and natural disturbance.
Analysis of air- and space-borne lidar techniques to directly measure ecosystem vertical structure.
Quantity of carbon stored in forests and the rate at which carbon is exchanged with the atmosphere through disturbance and regrowth.
